Lara was born in England to a Linguistic mother and an Artistic Father. Although she showed a subconscious inclination to acting from a young age, she started off life as rather a shy child. It wasn’t until age of 14 when she decided that she had to face her fears and take to the stage. Taking a proactive approach to dealing with her shyness she put her name down for a Chorus role in the school play, thinking that this safety in numbers would be the best option to stop her stage fright and gain confidence. The director, however, had other plans, casting her as one of the leads, of which she took like a duck to water. In the same year she was cast in her first professional theatre role in Chris Martins dark and disturbing adaptation of Oliver Twist at the New Victoria Theatre. She continued to take lead roles whilst training; both in the educational environment and externally along side.
She graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 BA Hon in Contemporary Theatre and Performance. After working full time for a short period to payback the inevitable student debts she took the plunge in 2006 and left her job as an agent to focus solely on her career in the acting world. Since then she has appeared in roles for TV, Short film and Voice Over amongst other things. And in her 10 years of acting experience she has worked along side some well known and respected artists such as Alex Pascal OBE, Nicholas Hoult, Chris Martin and Les Hemstock to name but a few.Lara is also a qualified make-up artist, model, sold artist, published poet and performed script writer.
